The image of paintbrushes is symbolic. Unfortunately, I haven’t pursued painting…yet. (Though, I do have some online courses cued up on Domestika!) The paintbrushes represent the various roles I’ve had over the years:
– creative director
– video and web producer
– writer
– development editor
– designer
– animator
– video editor
– music supervisor and sound designer
I’m thankful for each experience and grateful for the awards I’ve received along the way, including a Silver Addy and two Silver Tellys.
Developing skills in various disciplines has given me a holistic perspective on branding and creative communications. This perspective enables me to manage projects from multiple angles and create a sense of camaraderie between stakeholders and creatives. I’ve learned every project is a fresh opportunity to ask better questions, explore new territory, and achieve exceptional results.
If you’ve read this far, maybe I should mention that I graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and fondly remember the wonderful food options… Ahem, I mean, the intellectual stimulation and pedestrian lifestyle. After college I briefly worked for a former CBS producer-turned-PBS–documentarist, and then jumped into the web design world, first learning Adobe Photoshop and Premiere and then Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks (remember Macromedia?). This solid base launched me into the creative communications world and I soon added Adobe After Effects to my toolset. I also enjoyed working with voice actors, dipping into 3D and VFX software options, and hiring a composer. Not least, I’ve had the opportunity to work both independently and in-house, and look forward to working with you.
